Elizabeth Baldin

Elizabeth studied at UWE Bristol, where she qualified with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. She then moved back to Berkshire where was employed as a book designer for a major publishing company. However, her real passion was painting which she did as often as she could until she finally left publishing in order to devote more of her time to her love of art. She first exhibited her paintings in 2007, and has been a fulltime professional artist ever since.

Over the years she has worked in oils, acrylics and watercolours, and striven to develop her techniques in all media to widen the scope of her painting.

Currently Elizabeth is working with acrylics to create impressionist-style landscapes using lively brushwork and dynamic colour combinations.  Her paintings capture the joy of being out in the Berkshire countryside near her home or the coastal regions of Hampshire and Devon. Elizabeth starts her paintings by making sketches and taking photographs out on location which she then develops into larger paintings over many hours back in her studio.

‘Painting is filled with so many new discoveries and challenges for me and it keeps evolving - never standing still. That’s why I’m so hooked’.   Elizabeth Baldin
